Home decorating can be a challenging task for your budget but it can make you feel better, regardless of how much money you put aside. You don’t need to spend a lot to let your creativity free. You simply need to plan and conquer. Planning ahead helps you to save money on everything else so why not help you on home decor? When you look around the room and decide what you want to change, think about two or three different ways you can decorate that room, one being the most inexpensive and yet still satisfying.

First Tip: Change The Color Scheme

Start by visiting local DIY stores and gather color cards that are very useful when you start searching for carpets, curtains and furniture that will fit into a color scheme. Don’t worry about choosing the right colors. The rule of thumb is that anyone can choose the colors that will make him or her feel comfortable. You can use online color selection tools offered for free by paint manufacturers, DIY stores, home decorating magazines and other related sites. You can find thousands of color schemes that will help you save a lot of money. You may find that the only thing that needs to be changed is the color of your wall. You can keep your furniture, carpets and curtains and change the colors of your walls, window and door frames.

Second Tip: Rearrange The Small Pieces Of Furniture

This is often time overlooked. This simple thing can make you feel that you step into a new room. You can change small furniture pieces from one room to another. This way you have achieved a completely new arrangement that will be satisfying for you and your family. Use area rugs to highlight an antique piece in your room. Using yellow rugs can highlight the area and create a new focal point in your room. Bamboo rugs are another great way to decorate a specific area in the room. You can never have too many area rugs. Sometimes the more rugs you have, the more creative you can be because you can use them in different rooms.

Third Tip: Disguise Your Old Furniture

If you don’t want to replace your furniture, simply disguise it. Sofa and beds can be covered with a themed blanket or piece of fabric that will make it look different. Changing the position of furniture can even disguise an old stubborn stain on the carpet. There is no limit in what you can achieve if you let your imagination free.

Simple home decor is sometimes more effective than buying new everything for your room. If you think about each individual area in your room, you can create a list of ways that you can make them look new without sacrificing the overall ambiance that you want to create. You can also save on tapping into your wallet. Just use items from a different room, online auctions, or bargain stores. Sometimes a dollar can make a big change.
